RENT GUIDELINES
Find out how much rent can increase in rent stabilized apartments, lofts & hotels

On April 30, 2013, the NYC Rent Guidelines Board adopted a proposed range of renewal lease guidelines for rent stabilized apartments, lofts and hotels. The proposed guidelines, as well as procedures relating to public meetings and public hearing concerning the guidelines, is detailed in the Public Notice (in pdf format). The Public Notice is also available in html format (translatable option).

The proposed guidelines may also be viewed and comments may be submitted on the Rules of the City of New York Information Center (NYC Rules) website.

The NYC Rent Guidelines Board annually prepares six research studies:

  • Price Index of Operating Costs
  • Income and Expense Study
  • Housing Supply Report
  • Income and Affordability Study
  • Mortgage Survey Report
  • Changes to the Rent Stabilized Housing Stock

The first four reports of 2013, the Price Index of Operating Costs, Income and Expense Study, Income and Affordability Study and Mortgage Survey Report, have been released. These reports, as well as those from prior years, may be read and downloaded in the Housing Research section of our website.
